Trek Overview
Dayara Bugyal Trek is a beginner-friendly, multi-day hiking adventure that begins from the peaceful mountain village of Raithal in Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand. Situated at an altitude of around 1,800 meters, Raithal—also known as the Goat Village—is known for its traditional wooden houses, stone pathways, and warm Garhwali culture. The trail gradually ascends through dense oak and rhododendron forests, past serene streams and the tranquil Barnala Lake, eventually leading to the breathtaking alpine meadows of Dayara Bugyal at an altitude of 3,688 meters (12,100 feet). This 10 km one-way trail, spread across Five days and Four nights, is ideal for first-time trekkers, families, and anyone seeking a peaceful Himalayan experience. Campsites at Gui and Chilapada offer stunning sunset views, cozy shelter, and the chance to stargaze in the clear mountain skies. In winter, the trail transforms into a snow-covered wonderland, with panoramic views of majestic Himalayan peaks like Gangotri I, Janoli, Draupadi Ka Danda, Mt. Srikanth, Black Peak, and Mt. Bandarpunch. Spring brings a burst of color as wildflowers bloom across the meadows, making the landscape equally magical. The trail is well-marked and safe, with gentle gradients that allow trekkers to enjoy the journey without extreme physical strain.
